It was a bit strange reading this short-novel Sci-Fi and M/M where the protagonists are a human laboratory technician and an undead created in the lab to do testing.

In my imagination the zombies are those of Romero's film and then I find myself reading a story that has one them for the protagonist, who falls in love and feels attraction for another person, it was a little unusual.

The story has all the limitations that you may have because of its brevity, but it's a cute story, very hot, but also very sweet.

Kee, the stein (or zombies) is the dominant alpha among the creatures trapped in the lab. He is physically and sexually attracted to Ben, and his ways are sometimes a little "barbarians", but he feels aso a big protective instinct toward the man. It's one of the traits that I appreciated most in him, along with his intelligence and ability to learn and adapt in order to survive.

Ben has some conflicting feelings towards Kee: fear, curiosity, attraction. His work forces him to horrible actions and he must deal with his conscience

This is the third book in the Love-Bots series, but you can also read it individually, by focusing on the protagonists of the story.

È stato un po' strano leggere questa short-novel sci-fi e M/M dove i protagonisti sono un tecnico di laboratorio umano e una creatura non morta creata nel laboratorio per fare sperimentazione.

Nella mia immaginazione gli zombie sono quelli dei film di Romero e quindi ritrovarmi a leggere una storia che ne ha uno per protagonista, che si innamora e prova attrazione per un altra persona è stato un po' insolito.

Il racconto ha tutti i limiti che si possono avere a causa della sua brevità, ma è una storia carina, molto hot, ma al tempo stesso molto dolce.

Kee, lo stein (o zombie) è la creatura alpha dominante nel gruppo di creature imprigionate nel laboratorio. È attratto fisicamente e sessualmente da Ben, e per quanto i suoi modi a volte siano un po' "barbari", prova anche un grosso istinto protettivo verso l'uomo. È uno dei tratti che ho apprezzato di più in lui, insieme alla sua intelligenza e capacità di imparare e adattarsi per sopravvivere.

Ben prova dei sentimenti un po' contrastanti nei confronti di Kee: paura, attrazione, curiosità. Il suo lavoro lo obbliga a compiere azioni orribili e deve fare i conti con la sua coscienza.

È il terzo libro nella Love-Bots serie, ma si può leggere anche individualmente, concentrandosi sui protagonisti del racconto.

Thanks to this author I've rediscovered the pleasure of returning to read sci-fi books, sci-fi romance, with in this case also the presence of a handsome vampire.

Break Out is the first book of the series Blood Hunter by Nina Croft.

What I liked in this book? Everything I would say.

First of all the style full of irony with which this author writes, the  world created for this new series, the ability to create an action-packed storyline, in a novel that is also a romance and all' but most of all I loved all the characters of her book.

My favorite is Rico, a vampire from the reputation as a seducer, that may seem a bit superficial and easily duped, as Skylar believed, so she puts on display her stunning physique as a trap for him. But he is an old Fox, in more than two thousand years, he has seen and dealt with all kinds of things and  hemanages to disguise how cunning and dangerous he can be with his easygoing air of seducer.

An amazing character..

Skylar is a woman full of secrets and contradictions, trained to carry out undercover missions under the orders of her commander, a member of the Collective. She chose to become immortal, giving up many things, and in this mission, where since the beginning she knows she is going to betray Rico and his crew, she notices how the weighing these choices for her and she feels torn.

I also adored the relationship between Rico and Tannis, the captain of his ship, a determined, deadly woman, who she does not spare even Rico and Skylar from her sarcasm, but she has a heart of gold and she would do anything to protect the members of her crew.

Lots of action, but also a lot of passion in  a story in which Rico uses all his charm and his skills as a seducer with Skylar, to find out what game is playing the girl. The mission for which he was hired is impossible, but the vampire loves challenges, and in any case he cannot help himself to resist the attraction he feels for her, knowing it might be a trap.

I can't wait to see how it will evolve this series.

Grazie a questa autrice ho riscoperto il piacere di leggere libri sci-fi, sci-fi romance, in questo caso con la presenza anche di uno splendido vampiro.

Cosa mi è piaciuto in questo libro? Praticamente tutto.

Prima di tutto lo stile pieno di ironia con il quale ama scrivere questa scrittrice, la realtà creata per questa sua nuova serie, la sua capacità di costruire una trama ricca di azione in un racconto che è comunque anche un romance, e tutti i personaggi presenti nel suo libro, protagonisti e non.

Il mio preferito è Rico, un vampiro dalla fama di seduttore, che può sembrare un po' superficiale e facile da abbindolare, come ha creduto di fare Skylar, mettendo in bella mostra il suo fisico mozzafiato. In realtà lui è una vecchia volpe, in più di duemila anni, ha visto e affrontato di tutto e riesce a camuffare bene la sua reale intelligenza e pericolosità con la sua aria scanzonata di seduttore.

Un personaggio veramente molto ben riuscito.

Skylar è una donna piena di segreti e contraddizioni, addestrata a portare a termine missioni sotto copertura agli ordini del suo comandante, membro del Collective. Ha scelto di diventare immortale a caro prezzo, ha rinunciato a molte cose, e in questa missione dove Sin dall'inizio sa che dovrà tradire Rico e il suo equipaggio, non può fare a meno di accorgersi  di quanto le pesino queste scelte fatte e si sente combattuta.

Ho poi adorato il rapporto tra Rico e Tannis, la comandante della sua nave, una donna risoluta, letale, che con le sue frecciatine piene di sarcasmo non risparmia nemmeno Rico e Skylar, ma che ha un cuore d'oro e farebbe di tutto per proteggere i membri del suo equipaggio.

Tanta azione, ma anche tanta sensualità, in una storia nella quale Rico utilizza tutto il suo charme e le sua abilità di seduttore con Skylar, per scoprire a quale gioco sta giocando la ragazza. La missione per la quale è stato assunto è impossibile, ma il vampiro ama le sfide, e comunque non riesce a fare a meno di resistere all'attrazione che prova per lei, pur sapendo che potrebbe essere una trappola.

Non vedo l'ora di vedere come evolverà questa serie.

Rebecca Zanetti and her alpha male are awesome.

I met by chance this writer thanks to her Dark Protectors series, by The way I recommend it to all lovers of the paranormal romance, and as soon as I see her name on a book for me is now a guarantee, whatever the genre to which belong the book.

Sweet Revenge is the second book in the series Sin Brothers.

This series tells the story of four brothers created in a genetic laboratory, which had the goal of creating the perfect soldiers, through genetic manipulation and unscrupulous training from a very young age. A packaging used by the Commander to create killer, blackmailing an additional weapon in his hands to have control over the group of brothers that are created in the laboratory.

Any failure during the training led to the elimination of the subject under consideration and this has caused the brothers Sin remain even more united and Matt the big brother to take charge of finding any way to survive, becoming perfect and lethal, while waiting to flee together.

The escape is successful, but their freedom is never complete, always in danger, with the constant threat of being found and killed.

They can't afford a normal life and affections which could become weaknesses, but during one of his undercover missions to retrieve one of the scientists who participated in experiments on them, Matt finds himself going against his own rules.

He feels hopelessly attracted to Laney, he doesn't know that she is actually the one which he is looking for until it's too late.

The plot is good, as well as the rate at which narrated the story, and especially how it was able to write this author gave rise has an excellent book.

Matt is amazing, dominant lethal and I'd say the perfection.

Laney is a great co-star: she made mistakes in her past, and she is ready to do anything to be able to remedy. Smart and stubborn enough to stand up to Matt and his brothers, despite the dangers.

Rebecca Zanetti e i suoi uomini alpha dominanti sono uno spettacolo.

Ho conosciuto per caso questa scrittrice grazie alla sua serie Dark Protectors, che consiglio a tutti gli amanti del paranormal romance, e appena vedo il suo nome su un libro per me è oramai una garanzia, qualsiasi il genere a cui appartenga il libro.

Sweet Revenge è il secondo libro nella serie Sin Brothers.

Questa serie racconta la storia di quattro fratelli creati in un laboratorio di genetica, che aveva l'obiettivo di creare i soldati perfetti, grazie la manipolazione genetica e a un addestramento senza scrupoli fin dalla più tenera età. Un condizionamento utilizzato dal Commander per creare dei killer, il ricatto un'arma ulteriore nelle sue mani per avere il controllo sul gruppo di fratelli creati in laboratorio.

Qualsiasi fallimento durante l'addestramento portava all'eliminazione del soggetto in esame e questo ha spinto i fratelli Sin a restare ancora più uniti e Matt il fratello maggiore a prendersi carico di trovare qualsiasi modo per sopravvivere, diventare perfetti e letali, nell'attesa di riuscire a fuggire insieme.

La fuga riesce, ma la loro libertà non è mai completa, sempre in pericolo, con la costante minaccia di essere ritrovati e uccisi.

Non possono permettersi una vita normale e affetti che potrebbero diventare debolezze, ma durante una delle sue missioni sotto copertura per ritrovare uno degli scienziati che hanno partecipato agli esperimenti su di loro, Matt si ritrova ad andare contro le sue stesse regole.

Si sente irrimediabilmente attratto nei confronti di Laney, non sa che in realtà la donna è colei di cui è alla ricerca fino a quando è troppo tardi.

La trama è buona, cosi come il ritmo con il quale viene narrata la storia, e soprattutto come è stata capace di scriverla questa autrice hanno dato origine ha un ottimo libro.

Matt è incredibile, dominante e letale a dir poco. Perfetto.

Laney è un'ottima co-protagonista: ha commesso degli errori nel suo passato, ed è pronta a tutto pur di poter porre rimedio. Tanto intelligente e testarda da tener testa a Matt e ai suoi fratelli, nonostante i pericoli.

È tempo che contraccambi il favore... è così, se solo riuscissi a liberarmi del Ko che mi ha scoperto, a causa della mia incessante ricerca di oggetti terrestri. Se non ci presenteremo all'appuntamento e il Ko non mi uccidesse, Brody potrebbe...

Splendido racconto breve sci-fi di Annie Nicholas.

Adoro il modo di scrivere di questa autrice, partendo dai suoi racconti paranormal romance sui vampiri, scoperti per caso, passando poi a demoni, draghi e ora lo sci-fi. È veramente eclettica e piena di fantasia.

Questa storia è ambientata in una realtà fantascientifica un po' alla Star Trek o Guerre Stellari, piena di creature di diverse razze, descritte in modo così particolareggiato che mi è sembrato vedermele passare davanti.

Il racconto è ben scritto, una bella trama, ricca d'azione e mi è piaciuto molto il legame tra i due protagonisti, Brody e Lucille, pieno di sensualità, ma anche amicizia, fiducia e amore per il proprio compagno.

Vivono sempre col pericolo di essere scoperti e catturati, per poi essere uccisi, ma inseguono un sogno, per il quale sono disposti a rischiare tutto: raggiungere una colonia nascosta di umani e lì vivere in pace e formare una loro famiglia.

Bellissimi veramente, peccato sia un racconto breve, ma spero sia solo l'inizio di una nuova serie sci-fi scritta da Annie Nicholas.

Amazing sci-fi short story by Annie Nicholas.

I love the way can write this author, her stories from paranormal romance about vampires, discovered by chance, passing then to demons, dragons and now the Sci-Fi. She is truly eclectic and full of fantasy.

This story is set in a fictional reality a little like Star Trek or Star Wars, filled with creatures of different races, described in such detail that I thought I can see them.

The story is well written, a nice plot, action-packed and I really liked the bond between the two protagonists, Brody and Lucille, full of sensuality, but also friendship, trust and love for each other.

Living always with the danger of being discovered and captured, only to be killed, but chasing a dream, for which they are willing to risk everything: reach a hidden human colony and there live in peace and form a family.

Beautiful really, it's a pity it is only a short story, but I hope it is only the beginning of a new sci-fi series written by Annie Nicholas.

Clean Sweep by Ilona Andrews

Premetto che ho ricevuto una copia eARC di Clean Sweep dagli autori del libro Gordon e Ilona Andrews in cambio di una recensione onesta del loro libro.

Vista dall'esterno Dina Demille è l'epitome della normalità. Gestisce un antiquato Bed & Breakfast vittoriano in una piccola cittadina del Texas, possiede uno shitzu di nome Beast, è la perfetta vicina di casa, il cui problema più grosso dovrebbe essere cosa servire per colazione ai suoi ospiti. Ma Dina è... differente. La sua scopa è un'arma letale, il suo albergo è magico e pensa da solo. Creato per dare alloggio a visitatori di altri mondi, l'unico ospite fisso è un'aristocratica galattica che si è ritirata e non può abbandonare il terreno del Bed & Breakfast, dato che è la responsabile della morte di milioni di persone e qualcuno potrebbe decidere di spararle a vista. Date queste circostanze, la parola "normale" va un po' stretta a Dina.

E adesso qualcosa che possiede malefici artigli e denti affilati ha cominciato a mietere vittime durante la notte... Sentendosi responsabile nei confronti dei propri vicini, Dina decide di lasciarsi coinvolgere. Ma prima di tutto deve avere a che fare con l'attraente, in modo irritante, nuovo vicino Sean Evans, ex militare - licantropo alpha dominante - e con l'ugualmente affascinante vampiro soldato cosmico, Arland, cercando contemporaneamente di tenere al sicuro i suoi ospiti e l'albergo. Ma il nemico che si ritrova ad affrontare è diverso da qualsiasi cosa abbia mai affrontato in precedenza. È furbo, malefico e letale e mettendo se stessa tra questa creatura e i suoi vicini potrebbe costarle tutto.

Dovete credermi, non sto esagerando, è il libro più bello, divertente e originale che abbia letto nel 2013, a mio parere.

 Clean Sweep è un inizio decisamente brillante per la serie Innkeeper Chronicles e oserei dire che sembra non avere non ha nulla da invidiare alla famosa serie Kate Daniels, degli stessi autori.

La chimica che si sprigiona quando scrivono insieme Gordon e Ilona è speciale, non ho idea di come avvenga il loro processo creativo, ma funziona alla grande.

Questo libro è un mix tra urban fantasy e sci-fi, ma unico è il loro modo di scrivere e le interazioni che riescono a creare con i loro personaggi.

Sono presenti  magia, vampiri, licantropi e alieni, ma i particolari che sono nati dalla loro mente, per queste specie di creature sono unici, tali da non dover ricorrere ai soliti stereotipi presenti negli altri libri paranormal.

 Così  come unica  è la protagonista femminile.

Dina è un personaggio così divertente da leggere per il suo modo di comportarsi e reagire, con la battuta sempre pronta,  in grado di tenere testa, senza sforzo, ai maschi alpha presenti nel libro, domandoli, nel vero senso della parol e la sua magia e il suo ruolo sono determinanti nel racconto.

Arland, il vampiro, mi ha ricordato a tratti un cavaliere medievale per il suo modo di esprimersi e comportarsi, anche se ogni tanto appaiono degli sprazzi del suo essere predatore.

Sean, il licantropo, è un guardiano un po' particolare, una vera testa calda, sfrontato e sarcastico, sempre pronto a punzecchiare Arland.

Una delle cose che mi è piaciuta di più in questa storia è stata che sono riuscita a immergermi così tanto nella loro realtà, che mi sembrava di essere lì presente, ad assistere ai vari episodi accaduti tra Dina, Sean e Arland e in alcuni casi faticavo a trattenermi dal ridere immaginandomi le scene. E Beast il piccolo shitzu di Dina, non potete immaginare cosa può fare Beast!

Non voglio fare spoiler e rovinare le sorprese che può riservare  questo racconto, e sinceramente non riesco a trovargli un difetto. È originale, i personaggi sono ben caratterizzati, la trama è ottima, il libro ben scritto, ha ritmo, è pieno d'azione e la storia cattura da subito l'interesse di chi legge.

Fantastico, e mi sono divertita così tanto nel leggerlo che non posso fare a meno di consigliarlo a tutti, e pensare a questo libro come a un bel regalo per chi ama questo genere.

Questa storia, in realtà, era stata pubblicata come serial, gratuitamente,sul sito degli Ilona Andrews con una frequenza settimanale, così come per la serie Kate Daniels, in passato, gli Ilona Andrews avevano messo a disposizione dei loro fan degli special, con download sempre gratuito, con i POV di Curran, imperdibili.

Mi piace questa coppia, perchè scrive delle belle storie, ma soprattutto ama scriverle e coccolare noi lettori.

 I received an eARC copy of  Clean Sweep by the authors Gordon and Ilona Andrews in exchange for an honest review of their book.

On the outside, Dina Demille is the epitome of normal. She runs a quaint Victorian Bed and Breakfast in a small Texas town, owns a Shih Tzu named Beast, and is a perfect neighbor, whose biggest problem should be what to serve her guests for breakfast. But Dina is...different: Her broom is a deadly weapon; her Inn is magic and thinks for itself. Meant to be a lodging for otherworldly visitors, the only permanent guest is a retired Galactic aristocrat who can’t leave the grounds because she’s responsible for the deaths of millions and someone might shoot her on sight. Under the circumstances, "normal" is a bit of a stretch for Dina.

And now, something with wicked claws and deepwater teeth has begun to hunt at night....Feeling responsible for her neighbors, Dina decides to get involved. Before long, she has to juggle dealing with the annoyingly attractive, ex-military, new neighbor, Sean Evans—an alpha-strain werewolf—and the equally arresting cosmic vampire soldier, Arland, while trying to keep her inn and its guests safe. You must believe me, I'm not exaggerating, it's the most beautiful book, funny and original I read in 2013, in my opinion.

 Clean Sweep is a very bright start for the Innkeeper Chronicles and I daresay that seems to have nothing to envy to the Kate Daniels series, of the same authors.

The chemistry that Gordon and Ilona can do with their writing is special, I have no idea how is their creative process, but it works great.

This book is a mix between urban fantasy and sci-fi, and unique is the way they write and interactions they realize with their characters.

There are magic, vampires, werewolves and aliens, but the details that are born from their minds, for these species of creatures are so new, they don't use the usual stereotypes present in other paranormal books.

 Just as unique is the female protagonist.

Dina is so fun to read for her way of acting and reacting, her jokes always ready, she's able to hold her own, effortlessly, with the alpha males present in the book, taming them, in the true sense of the word and her magic and her role is crucial in the story.

Arland, the Vampire, reminded me a medieval knight for his way of speaking and acting, though sometimes glimpses of his being predator appear as well.

Sean, the werewolf, is a guardian a bit particular, a real hot head, bold and sarcastic, always ready to poke Arland.

One of the things I liked most in this story was that I was able to immerse myself so much in the reading, that I seemed to be there, to attend various episodes occurred between Dina, Sean and Arland and in some cases it was difficult to restrain myself from laughing imagining the scenes. And Beast the little Dina's shitzu, you can't imagine what Beast can do!

I don't want to make spoilers and ruin the surprises that can reserve this tale, and honesty I l can't find a flaw. It's original, the protagonists are well characterized, the plot is excellent, well-written, the book has rhythm, is full of action and the story captures the interest of the reader.

Awesome, and I enjoyed so much it that I can't help but recommend it to everyone, and think of this book as a gift for anyone who loves this genre.

This story, in fact, was published as a serial, for free, on the site of Ilona Andrews with a weekly frequency, as well as for the Kate Daniels series, in the past, Ilona Andrews had made available for their  fans several specials, with always free downloads, with the POV of Curran, unmissable.

I love this couple, because they write some good stories, but especially they do love writing and cherish us readers.

The Descartes Legacy by Nina Croft

Un po' sci-fi, un po' thriller con una punta di romance, due bei personaggi come protagonisti principali e una organizzazione criminale degna della migliore Spectre di James Bond e nasce un bel libro: The Descartes Legacy, con una trama avvincente, piena di ritmo, mistero e colpi di scena, senza tralasciare le scene molto hot tra Luke e Jenna.

È il secondo libro che leggo di Ms Nina Croft, e credo di poter dire di aver trovato un'altra autrice da seguire con interesse in futuro e devo mettere nella mia personale wish-list i libri da lei pubblicati in precedenza.

Lucas Grafton ha trascorso gli ultimi dieci anni a dare la caccia al Conclave, una organizzazione segreta che lo ha privato di tutto: sua moglie, sua figlia e la sua reale identità. Adesso ha una traccia da seguire, che riguarda un imminente attacco terroristico che sta per colpire Londra, nome in codice Descartes.

Nata con una malattia genetica, Jenna Young ha sempre saputo di essere differente. Ma la morte improvvisa del padre la catapulta in una realtà fatta di omicidi e terrorismo e non se la sarebbe mai aspettata. Per tentare di rimanere viva deve risolvere un mistero vecchio di venticinque anni e il suo unico alleato è un uomo duro e pericoloso alla ricerca della sua vendetta; l'unico indizio che ha Jenna sono le Descartes Highlands, nome di un'area della Luna.

Il bisogno di Luke di vendicarsi coincide con la ricerca del passato di Jenna e tutti e due devono affrontare insieme il Conclave. Nel frattempo scoprono un verità nascosta riguardo la malattia di Jenna, una verità che metterà in discussione la reale natura umana della ragazza.

Jenna è un personaggio femminile molto tosto, non si lascia andare a facili isterismi nonostante la sua vita venga travolta da un'ondata di violenza e una lunga serie di omicidi. È sveglia, intelligente e pronta a reagire a quello che le succede. A causa della sua presunta malattia ha sempre tenuto tutti a debita distanza, ma in questa occasione ha bisogno di aiuto.

Luke ha vissuto per anni con un solo scopo: consumare la sua vendetta, per ottenerla è sempre stato disposto a utilizzare qualsiasi metodo: il fine giustifica i mezzi, ma questa volta, senza volerlo, permette a Jenna di superare le sue barriere e coivolgerlo su un piano personale.

La narrazione è coinvolgente, e pian piano si scoprono tutti i retroscena sulla vita di Jenna e il suo legame involontario al Conclave.

Lauren, una delle persone al vertice dell'organizzazione, è un personaggio che mettevi brividi, visto la sua freddezza e il suo cinismo.

La conclusione della storia ha un finale abbastanza aperto, in sospeso... diventerà una serie? Ho provato a guardare sul sito dell'autrice, ma non viene accennato niente a tal proposito. Vedremo, anche perché alcune curiosità su come andrà a finire tra Luke e Jenna mi sono rimaste.

A little bit Sci-Fi, a little bit thriller with some romance, two nice characters as main protagonists and a criminal organization worthy of the best James Bond's Spectre and we have an amazing book: The Descartes Legacy, with an engaging plot, with a fast pace, mystery and plot twists, not to mention the very hot scenes between Luke and Jenna.

This is the second book I read by Ms Nina Croft, and I believe I can say that I have found another author to follow with interest in the future and I must put in my personal wish-list her books previously published.

Lucas Grafton has spent the last ten years hunting the Conclave, a secret organization who took everything from him: his wife, his child, his very identity. Now he has a lead—an imminent terrorist attack on London—code-named Descartes.

Born with a genetic illness, Jenna Young has always known she was different. But the unexpected death of her father catapults her into a world of murder and terrorism she never expected. In order to stay alive, she must solve a twenty-five year old mystery—and her only ally a hard bitter man in search or retribution, her only clue the Descartes Highlands, an area on the near side of the moon.

Luke’s need for revenge collides with Jenna’s hunt for the past, and together they must stand against the Conclave. All the while uncovering the truth behind Jenna’s illness, a truth that will make Jenna question her very humanity.

Jenna is a female character very tough, she will not let go easily hysterics despite her life is overwhelmed by a wave of violence and a lot of murders. She's smart, intelligent and ready to react to what happens. Because of her supposed illness she  has always kept everyone at a safe distance, but on this occasion she needs help.

Luke has lived for years with only one purpose: his revenge, for this he has always been willing to use any method: the end justifies the means, but this time, unwittingly, Jenna goes under his skin overcome his barriers and draw them on a personal level.

The narrative is engaging, and slowly you find out all the ins and outs of Jenna and her relation unintentionally with Conclave.

Lauren, one of the people at the top of the Organization, is a character who get me chills, seen her coldness and cynicism.

The conclusion of the story has an ending quite open, ... Is going to become a series? I tried to look at the author's website, but it isn't any word at all in this regard. We will see, because I have some curiosity about what is going to happen between Luke and Jenna.

The Bacchi by Belinda McBride

Anni e anni che non leggevo un libro di genere sci-fi, che è stato uno dei miei preferiti nel passato, ma visto questo libro di Belinda McBride, non ho saputo resistere. Amo questa autrice, i suoi libri e personaggi non mi deludono mai. Devo precisare che in questo caso The Bacchi è un libro erotic sci-fi, ma veramente molto molto bello e appassionante.

Ms McBride ha creato a ruota libera una realtà e dei personaggi totalmente fuori dai canoni usuali, dando libero sfogo alla sua creatività, mantenendo però costante alcune caratteristiche che si ritrovano nei suoi libri: storie d'amore meravigliose, un amore che non ha limiti di sesso, razze ecc... descrizioni così accurate dei suoi protagonisti, che sembra quasi di poterli vedere, un'ottima trama che rende impossibile accantonare la lettura e poi adoro il suo stile di scrittura, semplice scorrevole e chiaro.

Lefi Dhrahn è un Bacchi, un professionista nel mondo del sesso a pagamento, vive la sua vita immerso nel lusso, perseguendo il piacere, ma è tormentato dai ricordi di un amore perduto. Sopravvive al dolore circondandosi della bellezza in tutte le sue forme, il sesso e qualsiasi tipo di auto indulgenza. Quando incontra il seducente Ispettore Afton Teris, Lefi pensa che il detective potrebbe essere una bella aggiunta alla sua serie di conquiste.

Non prende in considerazione il rischio di potersi innamorare.

Afton Teris è un ermafrodita Valorano, come tutti i membri della sua specie, è un tipo austero, intellettuale e disapprova la frivolezza di chi si prostituisce.

Afton è orientato verso la sua componente maschile, ma il bellissimo Lefi risveglia in lui un desiderio che non ha mai provato, facendo nascere nel suo intimo dei dubbi su tutto ciò che ha sempre saputo di se stesso. Ad aumentare la sua confusione, Afton scopre di essere attratto dai piaceri proibiti che circondano la vita del Bacchi.

Quando vicino a casa viene rapita una persona, i due si ritrovano a lavorare insieme sotto copertura, infiltrandosi in un bordello per investigare durante un'operazione per liberare persone mantenute schiave. Qui, Lefi si trova ad affrontare dolorosi ricordi del suo passato, mentre Afton scopre una realtà piena di orrori che potrebbe minacciare il suo futuro e forse la sua stessa vita.

La loro sopravvivenza dipende l'uno dall'altro, ma solo se Lefi riuscirà a mettere da parte il suo dolore e ascoltare il suo cuore.

Il libro fa parte dello stesso mondo di un'altra storia di Ms McBride "An Uncommon Whore", ma come ho già detto, la storia è così ben scritta, in modo accurato che ci si riesce immergere in questo mondo fantastico, pieno di creature di razze strane e diverse senza nessun problema.

Lefi è un personaggio stupendo, affascinante, sensuale e decadente, ma sotto questa superficie è di una dolcezza e fragilità che commuove e lascia senza parole.

Afton che in apparenza è molto austero e quadrato, è un tipo tosto, disposto ad affrontare una verità che potrebbe cambiare ciò che ha sempre pensato di essere. Lefi nella sua vita è come un uragano, ma il Bacchi è talmente segnato dalle tragedie del passato che, dopo aver sconvolto la vita di Afton, non è certo di potergli dare tutto ciò di cui il Valerano ha bisogno.

Una storia d'amore stupenda, insolita, particolare e unica, inserita in una trama ricca di azione e colpi di scena.

Years and years that I didn't read a Sci-Fi book, that was one of my favorites generes in the past, but when I saw this book by Belinda McBride, I Couldn't help my self . I love this author, her books and her characters never disappoint me. I must say that in this case The Bacchi is a book erotic Sci-Fi, but it's so good,very very nice and exciting.

Ms McBride created her characters, giving free rein to her creativity, maintaining some constant features that are found in her book: beautiful love stories, a love that has no limits in sex, race etc.  accurate descriptions of her characters that you can almost seems to be able to see them for real, excellent plot that makes it impossible to set aside the reading and I love her writing style, simple and clear.

The Bacchi Lefi Dhrahn lives a life of luxury and decadence, but is tortured by memories of a lost love. He survives the pain by surrounding himself with sex, beauty and all forms of self-indulgence. When he meets the alluring Inspector Afton Teris, Lefi believes the detective will make a very nice addition to his string of conquests.

He doesn't count on falling in love.

Afton Teris is a Valoran hermaphrodite and like all members of his species, is stern, cerebral and disapproves of the frivolous prostitute. Afton orients as a male, but the beautiful Lefi Dhrahn stirs him sexually, making him question everything he knows about himself. To further confuse his emotions, Afton finds himself tempted by the forbidden pleasures surrounding the Bacchi.

When a kidnapping ring strikes close to home, the two go undercover on a brothel barge to investigate a slavery operation. There, Lefi is confronted by painful memories from his past, while Afton is faced with a horror that threatens his future, and perhaps his very life.

Their survival lies with one another, but only if Lefi can set aside his pain and listen to his heart.

The book is part of the same universe of another story of Ms McBride "An Uncommon Whore", but as I said, the story is so well written, so accurate that you can immerse in this fantasy world, filled with amazing creatures and different breeds without any problem.

Lefi is a wonderful character, charming, sensual and decadent, but below this surface he is  very kind with a gentleness and fragility that break through your heart and leaves you speechless.

Afton that apparently is very austere and square, is a tough, willing to face a truth that could change what he always thought to be. Lefi in his life is like a hurricane, but the Bacchi is so scarred by the tragedies of the past which, after having upset the life of Afton, is not certain to give him everything the Vareran needslove amazing love story, unusual, uniqueai with plot twists and action.

Beautiful.
