Love Water Memory è un romanzo che affronta in modo delicato e coinvolgente la storia di una coppia che viene travolta da un evento che sconvolge la loro vita, per sempre. Potrebbe essere l'inizio della fine del loro rapporto o la definitiva possibilità di ricominciare una nuova vita.
Chi è Lucy Walker? Anche la stessa Lucy non è in grado di dare una risposta a questa domanda, dopo essere stata ritrovata nella baia di San Francisco, completamente vestita, immersa nell'acqua gelida fino all'altezza delle sue ginocchia. Le viene diagnosticata una rara forma di amnesia e grazie all'annuncio di un'emittente televisiva viene riconosciuta dal suo fidanzato, Grady, che la raggiunge per riportarla a casa a Seattle.
Tornata a vivere nella sua realtà di tutti i giorni scopre di essere una persona totalmente diversa dalla " vecchia Lucy" che tutti conoscono e si ricordano. Non si riconosce nella persona estremamente riservata e quasi egoista che traspare da quello che riesce a cogliere attraverso le tracce che ha lasciato e che riesce a mettere insieme. Riuscirà innamorarsi di nuovo del suo dolce e bellissimo fidanzato, Grady? E lui potrà provare gli stessi sentimenti per questa nuova Lucy, così semplice e diretta, molto diversa dalla donna maniaca del controllo, con cui viveva prima?
Quando Lucy scopre che Grady le sta nascondendo dei segreti dolorosi che potrebbero sconvolgere la loro relazione, la donna trova il coraggio per indagare da sola e scoprire dettagli della sua infanzia che hanno influenzato in modo indelebile la sua vita, per liberare se stessa dal peso del passato.
Un racconto molto bello, in cui questa evento così traumatico viene affrontato sia dal punto di vista di Lucy che di Grady.
Lucy si ritrova a vivere un situazione irreale, non si ricorda nulla del suo passato, l'uomo che ama è uno sconosciuto, eppure il suo corpo risponde in modo istintivo alla sua vicinanza, si sente attratta da lui e al tempo stesso al sicuro. Deve ricominciare da zero, affrontare una miriade di emozioni contrastanti man mano che scopre qualche piccolo pezzo del puzzle del suo passato e al tempo stesso si rende conto di essere totalmente diversa, che la donna che è stata è per lei una sconosciuta e probabilmente una persona che non può e non vuole tornare a essere e questo potrebbe portarla a perdere l'uomo che stava per sposare. Il suo passato un rebus da decifrare, non ha mai voluto rivelare dettagli della sua famiglia anche all'uomo che amava e deve ripercorrere la sua vita a ritroso grazie all'aiuto di una zia da cui era fuggita appena raggiunta la maggiore età. Per andare avanti con la sua nuova vita ha bisogno di rimettere insieme tutti i pezzi.
Grady è colpito da mille emozioni diverse, è stupito e attratto da questa nuova Lucy, ma al tempo stesso gli manca la donna che amava e affronta mille lotte interiori perché gli sembra di tradirne il ricordo. Sente il peso della mancanza di intimità con questa donna, ma vuole concederle tutto il tempo possibile per adattarsi. Ha una terribile paura di perderla a causa della crisi che stavano affrontando prima della scomparsa e dell'amnesia di Lucy. Deve affrontare le sue insicurezze, accentuate dal suo animo sensibile e dalla perdita in tenera età del padre, cosa che ha influenzato profondamente la sua vita.
Due splendidi personaggi veri nelle loro emozioni che appassionano con la loro storia.
Questo libro è come un viaggio splendido attraverso la vita e le emozioni dolci-amare di queste due persone, disposte a lottare per un amore così importante nella vita di entrambi.

A very nice story, where this traumatic event is dealt with both the point of view of Lucy and Grady.
Lucy finds herself living an unreal situation, she doesn't remember anything of her past, the man she loves is a stranger, yet her body responds so instinctive to his proximity, she feels attracted to him and at the same time safe. She MUST restart her life totally, face a myriad of conflicting emotions as she discovers small pieces of the puzzle of her past and at the same time she realizes to be totally different, that the woman who was is an unknown and probably a person who cannot or does not want to go back to be and this could bring her to lose the man she was to be married. Her past a mistery, she never wanted to reveal details of her family to the man she loved and she must retrace her life back thanks to the help of an aunt who had fled just reached the age of majority. To get on with her new life she needs to put all the pieces together.
Grady is hit by a thousand different emotions, he is amazed and captivated by this new Lucy, but at the same time he grieves the lost of the woman he loved and he has to deal with so much inner struggles because he thinks like betraying her memory. He feels the weight of the lack of intimacy with this woman, but he wants to give her time as long as she need to fit in her new life. He has a terrible fear of losing her; it due to the crisis that they were facing before the disappearance and amnesia of Lucy. He must deal with his insecurities, accentuated by his sensitive soul and the loss of his father at a young age, which has profoundly influenced his life.
Two amazing characters, they are so true with their feelings, and I was entralled by their story.
This book is like a wonderful journey through the life and the bittersweet emotions of these two people, willing to fight for a love so important in the lives of both.
